Graduation day: Storytlr 1.0 is here !
Dear storytellers,
This project has been quite for a few months. This is a fact of life in open source projects, some developers are too busy, others decide to move on. Yet, while @alardw and myself where away, the community kept on developing new plugins and awesome features (like a one click installer).
Today, we are happy to announce Storytlr 1.0. We decided to name it that way for two important reasons:
- We now have an install wizard that makes it easier to setup a storytlr and support upgrading the database automatically in the future.
- We have a nice install base, getting larger everyday, and want to show our commitment in keeping this product alive, fixing issues and adding new features. See 1.0 as a new beginning.
Don't wait longer, go get it ! Read the install instructions and ask for help if you get into troubles. Here is a non exhautive list of what is new in this release (beyond the many many bug fixes):
- Installer and database upgrade mechanism
- Short urls with your own domain
- New plugins: Foursquare, Buzz, Gitorious, Github and Goodread
We have started to detail our next steps in a roadmap, feel free to contribute by editing the wiki directly or submitting and voting on ideas in the issue tracker.
As you can see, we have moved our entire development environment to Github. The wiki is open for anyone to edit. Please help us improving and adding on the documentation.
