Yes, we are moving forward ! Today, we've moved the whole service to a new server and a new architecture which should give us an immediate speed boost but will also help to scale in the longer term. In addition to that, we've rolled out a new release with some new features and many bug fixes.
In terms of features, you'll now enjoy:
- CNAME support (so that you can use your own domain name, transparently, with storytlr). See the advanced config for more details.
- Tumblelog kind of posting so that you can easily post a status, a blog post, an image, a link, and even audio files ! We'll soon add video in the list.
- An archive widget to help navigation on your public page
We have many more features in the pipeline and will now work hard on the next release. This next release should also be the release 1.0 and will mark our official launch. At this stage, it is planned for end october.
We are looking forward to reading your feedback, please send us comments, ideas and bugs by email, on twitter, or directly as comments to this post.
Cheers,
- The Storytlr team
We've just pushed online a new release of storytlr, finally introducing the core feature of Storytlr: the ability to mashup your data into a compelling story. Just have a look at this sample story to see what we talk about.
The idea is simple. Pick a start and end-date, add a title, and voilà ! You have a story bringing together content like pictures, status updates, video to form a compelling narrative of one of your adventures. Of course, in the future, it will be dead easy to print it or save it to pdf (think about the death of the photo album ?).
In addition to this exciting new feature, we introduce a search widget, ability to post multiple kind of content (e.g: audio files), support for Digg, and of course plenty of bug fixes !
We are now done for the core feature set, and will keep improving on this basis. We'll also soon start a bit of PR to get better visibility, and test the concept on a wider user base.
As always, don't hesitate to come back to us by email, or on Twitter, if you have any questions, ideas, or issues with our service.
Looking forward to read your feedback, thanks for the support,
Cheers from the Storytlr team !
